What? 

The 2024 Murihiku Strength Challenge is a 5-event Strongman-style competition that also incorporates the 2024 Southern Deadlift Champs.

Event 4: Vehicle Pull

Event 5:  Natural Stones

Entry into the Murihiku Strength Challenge automatically enters athletes in the Southern Deadlift Champs.

Murihiku Strength Challenge MEN and WOMEN - $40

We want to find the strongest in the South, simple as that.

We have 5 events that will test you over around 2 hours in the main arena at the 2024 A&P Show.

Incorporated into this year's event is the 2024 Southern Deadlift Champs, an open event to see who can pull the most weight off the ground.

Entry is only $20 to take a run at some deadlifts, it is also Event 1 of the Murihiku Strength Challenge.

All athletes will compete throughout the day for an overall Strength Challenge ranking however, we will be also recognising (with prizes) the top 3 athletes in the following weight classes.

• Men's and Women's OPEN
• Men's Under 105kg and Unders 90kgs.
• Women's Under 90kg and Under 75kg
