Stacy McNaught (Owner, CrossFit Level 1 &2 Trainer, PYCC Youth Coach)
Stacy came into CrossFit after a long background in athletics and representative rugby that had come to an end and was looking for something to regain his health, both physical and mental to ensure that he could be a father of 2 children and a loving husband for many more years to come. After joining CrossFit in February 2012 Stacy has made significant gains with CrossFit, it is fair to say that CrossFit has “changed his life” and is an inspiration to all of the CrossFit Wild South Community.
Stacy holds a Level 1 & 2 CrossFit Training Certificates, CrossFit Kids Certificate, and AWF Weightlifting Level 1 certificate and is more recently beginning to develop his nutritional skills to further benefit the CrossFit Wild South community members.
Ruth Anderson Horrell ( CrossFit Lvl 1+2 Coach)
15th fittest Woman in the World 2013 CFGames, 3x world CrossFit games, NZ Oly lifter, all-around nice lady!
Ruth is a 36 year old NZ representative CrossFit Athlete. I love CrossFit for the results, the community, the competition and because its fun! I represented the Australasia region at the World Reebok CrossFit Games in 2011, 2012 and 2013 (placing 31st, 17th, and 15th respectively). I have always done sport and competed successfully as a triathlete, long distance mountain runner (marathons, and ultra marathons), multisport (coast to coast) and at netball and rugby. I have competed in six Regional CrossFit events, and have qualified for The World CrossFit Games three times. In 2012 I competed at Oceania and Trans Tasman Champs representing NZ as an Olympic Weightlifter.
I believe to be good at anything requires patience, persistence, and passion.
I believe in developing strong foundational CrossFit movements. As a coach, I enjoy reinforcing these basic movements to ensure the fastest results possible from my athletes. I take a lot of satisfaction from seeing my athletes grow in their technique and fitness.
Owen West (CrossFit Level 1 Trainer)
Originally from sunny Blenheim, Owen found CrossFit while looking for a new way to keep fit in the deep south. That was over 5 years ago and he’s been hooked ever since!
Owen enjoys the variety that Crossfit offers and the friendly, encouraging environment found at the gym. The community atmosphere is unlike anything Owen had experienced in a gym before.
Owen has a particular interest in mobility, helping people move better, and increasing their performance in all aspects of their life. When not in the box, Owen can be found using his fitness in the outdoors – mountain biking, surfing, hunting and surf life-saving.
Owen holds a Level 1+2 Crossfit Trainer Certificate and a Mobility Trainer Certificate and is always looking to further develop his knowledge and skills.
